I am really glad to be able to introduce you to a brand new LMCS initiative to promote the integration of English language teaching, literature, and cultural manifestations. Bridges is a digital publication that aims at publishing quality papers produced by students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels which deal with literature, extensive reading, film, drama, interactive media, the visual arts, and creative writing.
This first issue starts with two papers on Shakespeare, who is the focus of almost all our attention in 2016. These are followed by a series of short papers produced by some current and former international students at the University of Leicester. This edition closes with a longer piece on E.M. Foster's A Passage to India.

We hope you also feel motivated to find such quality work among your own learners and consider this publication as a vehicle for sharing your students' work in the near future.
Happy reading!
